Welcome Week 2025 at ANS – summary

From October 6–10, 2025, the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno hosted Welcome Week 2025 – a welcome event prepared for new international students who began their studies at our university in the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The event was attended by two students from Spain and one student from Kazakhstan.

The first day of the program focused on integration and familiarization with the university and the city. The students were given a campus tour, visited the library, laboratories, and the Monoprofile Medical Simulation Center, where they learned about the university’s educational facilities. Afterwards, the participants took a walk around Leszno, during which they discovered the city’s history, culture, and its most important landmarks. The day concluded with a meeting with the Buddy Students – Polish students supporting international peers in the process of adaptation. Their tasks include helping with everyday matters, offering support in settling in, showing the city and the university, and serving as a point of contact in case of any difficulties. The selected Buddy Students come from the Institutes of Technology, Pedagogy, and Economy.

On the second day, a meeting was held with the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Prof. Maciej Pietrzak, who officially welcomed the students to the university and provided them with essential information regarding the organization of their studies. That same day, the participants also took part in a Polish language course covering basic vocabulary and elements of everyday communication.

Wednesday was dedicated to integration – the students, together with their Buddy Students, spent time bowling, where in a friendly atmosphere they got to know each other better and shared their experiences.

The highlight of the week was a trip to Wrocław, one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. The participants had the opportunity to see the city’s most important landmarks and learn about the region’s rich history and culture.

Welcome Week 2025 was an excellent opportunity for students from Kazakhstan and Spain to integrate, discover Polish culture, and begin a new stage of their education in the friendly and open environment of the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno.

We wish our new students much success, inspiring experiences, wonderful memories, and lasting friendships during their stay in Leszno and their studies at our university.
