Summary of BIP “Let’s Move, Don’t Exclude!”

On 18–22 May 2026, the Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) “Let’s Move, Don’t Exclude!” took place at the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno. The event brought together students and academic staff from partner universities in Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Portugal, as well as students from the State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno. The programme combined physical activity, intercultural integration, and initiatives promoting a healthy lifestyle and social inclusion.
The BIP programme “LET’S MOVE, DON’T EXCLUDE!” is an important element of the internationalisation of the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno. The project is being realised in cooperation with partner universities from:
Czech Republic – Technical University of Liberec
Croatia – University of Rijeka
Portugal – Polytechnic Institute of Santarém
Slovakia – Comenius University in Bratislava
Slovenia – Alma Mater Europaea
Slovenia – University of Novo Mesto
strengthens international academic cooperation, the exchange of teaching experiences, and the development of long-lasting relationships between higher education institutions.
The programme also included an online component – meetings were held on 11 and 27 May 2026. On 11 May 2026, an inaugural online meeting took place during which participants and lecturers had the opportunity to get to know one another and discuss the objectives of the BIP programme “LET’S MOVE, DON’T EXCLUDE!”. During the meeting, Dr Anna Wieczorek-Baranowska delivered a lecture entitled “What You Learn Young Stays with You”. The second online meeting, summarising the implementation of the programme, was held on 27 May 2026.
The on-site part of the programme, held from May 18 to 22, 2026, in Leszno, was the main part of the participants' joint activities.
The first day of the programme began with an official opening ceremony and a presentation of the university’s teaching infrastructure. This was followed by a lecture by Dr Zuzanna Maćkowiak on the impact of a sedentary lifestyle and stress on the human body. Afterwards, participants took part in integration activities in the form of “ice-breaking dances” led by Dr Katarzyna Stachowiak. In the evening, students met for a joint bowling. Participants were divided into international groups, which encouraged integration, helped overcome language barriers, and fostered relationships among students from different countries.
Tuesday was a day full of outdoor activities in Boszkowo and at Kalumet Equestrian Centre. Students worked in rotating international teams, carrying out tasks related to horse riding, horse care, and outdoor physical activity. Participants had the opportunity to ride in a horse-drawn carriage, observe training sessions and show-jumping courses, and discover the important role that contact with horses can play in therapy and physical activity. The day’s programme also included Nordic walking led by Dr Marta Nowaczyk, sports activities on the beach, yoga sessions, and joint integration activities. Working in international groups enabled students to develop interpersonal competences, learn cooperation skills, and exchange experiences related to culture and education in their respective countries.
On Wednesday, participants began the day with a short Polish language course, followed by aqua aerobics classes and “Myofascial Release” workshops devoted to myofascial relaxation techniques. Thursday brought further physical activities, including the workshops “Release Yourself” and “Let’s Move, Be Happy”, promoting conscious movement, well-being, and physical activity as an essential element of everyday life. On that day, international guests also participated in the Academic Run organised on the occasion of the University Patron’s Day.
The final day of the programme was dedicated to preparing concluding presentations, summarising the students’ participation in the project. During this stage, participants also worked in international groups, jointly presenting the outcomes of their work, experiences, and conclusions from the entire week.
As part of the programme assessment, BIP students completed three tasks related to physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Each task was designed to evaluate their creativity, teamwork skills, and reflection on the importance of movement for health and well-being.
“You Can Exercise Anywhere” – students were asked to record a short video presenting at least 10 different physical activities using the surrounding environment and public spaces, while also showing emotions connected with exercise (e.g. motivation, fatigue, joy).
“Healthy Selfie” – the task involved taking a photograph showing how physical activity positively affects both physical and mental health.
“The Voice of BIP” – students prepared an interview, report, or street survey on the role of physical activity in health, answering questions about the benefits of exercise, motivation to stay active, and barriers to regular physical activity.
The programme concluded with a ceremonial presentation of certificates and a farewell lunch.
The entire programme was conducted in English, which supported the development of participants’ language competences and contributed to building an international environment of cooperation. Students participating in the programme receive 3 ECTS credits.
The BIP programme “Let’s Move, Don’t Exclude!” was an excellent opportunity to gain new knowledge, develop social competences, and build international relationships. The intensive week filled with workshops, sports activities, and joint initiatives demonstrated that Erasmus+ is not only about learning, but also about integration, the exchange of experiences, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in an international environment.
Special emphasis was placed on the idea of inclusivity, mutual support, and the active involvement of all participants, regardless of their abilities, experience, or background. The programme slogan “Let’s Move, Don’t Exclude!” highlighted the importance of creating an open and accessible environment in which everyone can feel part of the community and actively participate in social and sports life.
