Our Student in Madrid as part of the Erasmus+ program
Student of the third year of Economics at the Institute of Economy, Weronika, has been staying in Spain for three weeks, completing part of her studies at the partner university, Universidad Unie in Madrid, as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
Already in her first week abroad, she took part in the “On-boarding Days” integration programme, which enabled her to meet students from many countries around the world and build valuable relationships. Above all, this experience provides an opportunity to gain international academic experience, become familiar with different teaching methods, and develop language skills in a natural environment. Studying at a partner university also fosters the ability to function effectively in a culturally diverse setting, which is highly valued in today’s labour market. Additionally, the student is establishing international contacts that may prove beneficial in the future, both professionally and academically. Participation in the Erasmus+ mobility programme is therefore an investment in personal development, intercultural competences, and increased competitiveness on the job market.
Weronika emphasizes that “the exchange of experiences within an international group fosters the development of intercultural competences, and the mobility itself shapes greater openness and independence.”
Her study programme has been arranged in such a way that the summer semester abroad does not conflict with her academic obligations at Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno. All courses completed during the mobility period will be fully recognized upon her return to Poland. Classes are conducted in English, which enables her both to deepen her knowledge of economics and to intensively develop her language skills.
The Erasmus+ programme offers students a wide range of short-term and long-term mobility opportunities for studies, internships, and short interdisciplinary educational programmes. The experiences gained during mobility can constitute an important element of academic development and future professional careers.
