Onboarding Days - 2025/2026 - summer semester
In the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, the Institute of Technology is hosting two students from our partner university, Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after Safi Utebayev. The students will pursue their studies in the fields of Computer Science and Mechatronics, based on individual study plans tailored to the curricula implemented at their home institution. Their visit is the result of long-standing and fruitful cooperation carried out under a bilateral interinstitutional agreement.
At the same time, as part of the new Erasmus+ KA171/2025 project, the Institute of Economy will welcome a student from Sokhumi State University in Tbilisi. The student will complete one semester of studies in Economics, developing academic and intercultural competences in an international academic environment.
Currently, the international students are preparing to begin their classes, gradually adapting to the new academic and cultural environment. To facilitate the integration process, the International Office has planned an Onboarding Days programme, which includes, among others: guided tours of the cities of Leszno and Wrocław, familiarisation with service points and public transport in Leszno, support in completing administrative formalities (registration of residence, legalisation of stay, banking matters), assistance with accommodation in the “Komenik” Student Dormitory, presentation of the university’s infrastructure, and intercultural workshops focused on adaptation to a new environment, with particular emphasis on coping with stress and challenges resulting from cultural differences. The programme also includes integration meetings with students and academic staff, as well as presentations of tourist attractions worth visiting in Poland and other European countries, encouraging active exploration of the region and the continent. Students will also receive organisational support related to their stay in the dormitory, including familiarisation with regulations, operational rules, and facilities available to residents.
The programme also provides support in learning the Polish language through language consultations and teaching materials facilitating everyday communication. Classes conducted in Polish will be supported by the use of translation tools and short consultations with lecturers in English, enabling students to fully participate in the educational process and gradually improve their language competences.
We encourage the academic community to actively integrate with our guests, share experiences, and build relationships that foster knowledge exchange, the development of intercultural competences, and further internationalisation of our University.
