International Week - ISAL Madeira

International Week - ISAL Madeira

The International Staff Week organised by the university ISAL (Instituto Superior de Administração e Línguas) took place from 16-20 June 2025 in Funchal, the capital of Madeira. This unique event brought together representatives of universities from different countries, creating a space for the exchange of experiences, collaboration and the development of professional competences.

During the week, there were numerous presentations by participating universities. Each institution had the opportunity to present its curricula, educational offer and opportunities for international cooperation. Participants were able to learn about the specifics of education in countries such as Lithuania, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain and Turkey.

Thematic workshops on the Erasmus+ programme were also an integral part of the event. During these, opportunities, challenges and effective solutions related to academic mobility and the internationalisation of universities were discussed. The workshops fostered an active exchange of experiences and good practices, helping participants to better understand how to effectively implement mobility projects and how to overcome typical problems related to international cooperation.

Our university was represented at the event by the head of the Department of Science and International Cooperation, MA Dominika Pluta, who actively participated in the presentations and workshops, establishing valuable contacts and promoting our international cooperation opportunities.

International Staff Week was also an excellent opportunity to build professional networks. Networking meetings enabled participants to establish new relationships that may result in future cooperation between universities, the implementation of joint projects or exchanges of academic staff and students. Thanks to this event, it will be possible to expand cooperation with new universities and increase the possibilities of Erasmus+ mobility for both students and employees of our university.

The presence of such a diverse range of participants, from countries across Europe and beyond, underlined the international nature of the event and the importance of academic cooperation in an age of globalisation. The event at ISAL in Madeira was therefore not only a platform for knowledge exchange, but also a space for building lasting and valuable international partnerships.
