Staff Week in Slovenia
From 13th to 16th of May 2024, a representative of the Department of Science and International Cooperation and the coordinator of the Foreign Language Center participated in the International Staff Week organised by the University of Novo Mesto in Slovenia. The University of Novo Mesto is a partner university of the Jan Amos Comenius University of Applied Sciences in Leszno.
The International Staff Week brought together around 30 participants from Poland, Croatia, Greece, North Macedonia and Turkey.
During the event, Ms Marja Koren, founder of the ODTIZ Institute for Education and Integration in Ljubljana, a long-time specialist in social communication and an active social activist for improving accessibility, gave a presentation on accessibility in Erasmus+ projects. The speaker gave very valuable advice and information, paying special attention to people with fewer opportunities.
The workshop on internationality and inclusion, where participants had lively discussions, exchanged experiences and opinions on international projects, the internationalisation of universities and the promotion and motivation regarding participation in academic exchange programmes, provided a lot of new and valuable knowledge.
According to reports a very interesting experience was the part called „The GoAbroad Journey”, where all participants presented their universities, their offers, cities and countries.
In summary, the entire programme of this international Staff Week offered many exciting and important topics, thanks to which the participants were able to deepen their knowledge of integration and diversity as key topics of the ERASMUS+ programme.
