Onboarding Days for International Students
A new country, a new university, new friendships and new experiences – our international students are about to embark on an exciting start to their academic journey.
From 24 to 30 September 2026, Onboarding Days will take place at the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno. This welcome week has been prepared especially for international students to help them settle in during their first days at the university.
In the winter semester of the 2026/2027 academic year, the university will welcome new international students to its academic community. As part of the Erasmus+ programme, two students from Complutense University of Madrid in Spain and one student from Northern University in Yerevan, Armenia, will join the university. In addition, under a bilateral agreement between the institutions, the university will host a student from Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after Safi Utebayev.
Onboarding Days will provide an opportunity for students to make their first contact with the university, the city and the local community. During the welcome week, new students will have the opportunity to:
- learn about academic life and how the university operates,
- explore the university and discover Leszno,
- take part in icebreaking activities designed to help them break the ice, get to know one another and make new friends,
- gain practical information to make everyday life in Poland easier.
The programme includes a welcome meeting, campus and city tours, information on accommodation, banking, healthcare and local services, as well as sessions devoted to cultural differences and intercultural communication. Students will also learn basic Polish phrases and discover important places and guidelines that will help them find their way around their new surroundings.
Onboarding Days will be a special time for integration, exchanging experiences and taking the first steps in an international academic environment. It is not only an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, but also a chance to meet new people and discover different cultures and perspectives.
We wish our new students that their time at the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno will be not only a period of gaining knowledge, but also an opportunity to make new friends, develop their passions and discover a new culture. We hope that their stay in Poland will be an inspiring time filled with valuable encounters and unforgettable experiences. This is the beginning of an extraordinary adventure that will certainly result in new friendships and memories – both for our international guests and for students of the university.
May Onboarding Days be the beginning of a great international experience at the Jan Amos Komeński State University of Applied Sciences in Leszno!
