International Days - summary

International Days - summary

On May 20-24, 2025, our university hosted representatives of partner institutions from Germany, Croatia, Italy, Romania, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and the United States as part of the International Days event. The initiative, organized by the Department of Science and International Cooperation, combined the international exchange of experiences with the promotion of ERASMUS+ mobility programs and the development of academic cooperation. This year's edition was a special event - it was also part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of our university, emphasizing the important place internationalization has in the development strategy. At the center of the event were presentations of partner universities and educational offers for students and staff, networking sessions and workshops for academic and administrative staff, information meetings for students interested in participating in ERASMUS+ and other international initiatives.

The event was honored by the presence of JM Rector Dr. Janusz Pola, Prof. ANS, university authorities and representatives of institutes who actively participated in talks with foreign partners. Conducted meetings concerned the expansion of bilateral cooperation, joint research projects and initiatives supporting the development of internationalization - both at the level of education and research.

There was also a symbolic dimension - to honor the presence of foreign delegations and to emphasize the importance of international relations, representatives from Italy, Romania, Croatia and the USA planted their trees in the “Garden of Nations”, which is located next to the university. This unique place will become a living monument to friendship and academic cooperation across borders.

However, what happened outside the lecture halls should not be overlooked. International Days is also a meeting of cultures - and we made sure that our guests could get to know Poland not only from the presentations, but also up close. The program included a tour of the city, and the highlight was a performance by the “Marynia” Song and Dance Ensemble, presenting traditional regional dances in colorful folk costumes.

It is also worth noting the great commitment of our students, who supported the event from the organizational, linguistic and logistical side. Their professionalism, energy and cordiality were invaluable. It was they who created an atmosphere of openness and hospitality of which our university can be truly proud.

International Days is not only a summary of past cooperation, but above all an investment in the future. Through talks and meetings with foreign partners, a number of activities were initiated that will soon result in new opportunities for students and academic staff. The plans include joint research projects, Blended Intensive Programmes or new student and staff mobility agreements.

Students at our university will gain access to short-term educational trips, internships abroad, as well as opportunities to work in international project teams. This is a chance to gain valuable cross-cultural competencies, work experience and development in a European higher education environment.

International Days is not only a meeting of institutions, but first of all of people. And it is the people - their openness, commitment and willingness to cooperate - that create the true value of internationalization.

We would like to thank all participants, international guests, students, staff and university authorities for the time spent together, inspiring conversations and building intercultural bridges.

We look to the future with optimism and already invite you to the next edition of International Days in 2026.
